The Panorama Tour - The Toughest Race On Tar
TV Schedule 2019
The Time Trial Settles the Score at the PPS Panorama Tour 2019
The Time Trial, the race of truth, settled the score for both the Traditional Tour and Elite Event of the 14th PPS Panorama Tour. Four hundred riders headed out on the morning of the 18 June 2019 in descending order - slowest to fastest. This out and back route is only 32km, but if riders wanted to take home the win, they needed 100% effort from start to finish.
In 2019, race organisers introduced the Elite / Professional Category. The Elite/Pro category is a "race within a race" at the PPS Panorama Tour. It is the same route; the same PPS Panorama rules apply with a separate start time. The new event also came with a R40 000 cash prize. For the Traditional Tour, stage prizes and a final prize of R30 000 for the Overall Men and Overall Women winners.
Traditional Tour: Egon Campbell & Marnus Potgieter (Cycle Nation/Bekker Steel), motivated by their Stage Three win, came blazing over the line in a time of 00:50:13 in the Time Trial. In the Open Women, Kim le Court & Carla rounded off their Tour with a clean run and Time Trial time of 01:04:18. In the Mixed BSC-DDMedia duo, Grant Edmiston & Parys Edwards came in on top with their time of 00:54:11.
Elite Event: Team NAD /Demacon's Barend Burger & Nico Bell came in at 00:47:50 successfully stepping onto the podium for the Time Trial.

Overall Demacon's Carla Oberholzer & Kimberley Le Court De Billot had a clean sweep throughout the PPS Panorama Tour, taking all four stage wins and the Open Women's first prize (10:09:47) with teammates Suzan Cronje and Lynette Burger second (10:51:08). Stacey Paul and Gillian Fourie finished third (11:09:07).
BSC-DDMedia duo Grant Edmiston & Parys Edwards after a back and forth battle rode away with overall win in the Mixed category (9:27:49). Matthew Stamatis and Samantha Sanders claimed second (3:09:24), with Lucy James and Gabriel van Deventer third (9:49:30).

"I respect the commitment, perseverance & Discipline that comes with this race. It's very similar to the journey towards being a professional. You have to keep pushing when the going gets tough. Like with PPS and its members, this race is about great partnerships." concludes Ayanda Seboni, Executive: PPS Brand, Marketing & Communications.
PPS Group CEO, Izak Smit comments on the synergy of the partnership, "Our involvement in the PPS Panorama Tour matches perfectly with our ethos of a balanced healthy life. Looking after yourself, exercising and being able to participate in things like this means better health in the long run. So I encourage people to try and live a balanced lifestyle, get involved with events like these and just have fun."

This four-day favourite cycle race covers a total of 320km of tough terrain which includes 6400m of ascent via the legendary mountains of Mpumalanga including Kaapmuiden and Spitzkop and parts of the Long
Tom Pass.
Race Director Hendrik Wagener reflects on the 2019 tour, "We'd like to thank all the riders who attended the 14th Edition of the PPS Panorama Tour. The Tour was a great success with little to no safety issues. We want to thank the Mpumalanga Government and the Mpumalanga Department: Culture, Sport and Recreation for their involvement in ensuring the riders enjoyed a safe and memorable tour."
