THE PPS PANORAMA LITE IS NOW A RACE - WITH PRIZES TO MATCH
20 February 2017: The 2017 PPS Panorama Lite is now a competitive two-day race, complete with prize money. This mini-version of The PPS Panorama Tour takes place over the first two stages of its bigger brother. It is still for teams of two and will have prize money for three categories: best men, women and mixed teams.
The two stages are 113km and 80km respectively, but the hills of Mpumalanga still present a significant challenge. The PPS Panorama Tour Lite is an opportunity for team mates to gain experience for the four-day “toughest race on tar”.
Race Director, Fiona Coward comments, “The Lite has always been a great introduction to the longer PPS Panorama Tour. Although only two days, the effort is still significant and we believe teams should be rewarded for completing these stages. We felt it was appropriate to give the Lite a competitive edge.
“Our new sponsor PPS is all about mutuality and teamwork. So teams working towards a goal, big or small, should be incentivised which is why we're offering prize money totalling R24 000.
The PPS Panorama Tour Lite takes place on the 28th & 29th April 2017. All the same facilities as the Tour will be available to the Lite riders. The start is at the same time as the Tour and takes place at Casterbridge, White River, Mpumalanga. Entries are open.
The PPS Panorama Tour is from the 28th April to 1st May, and takes place at Casterbridge, White River, Mpumalanga. Entries open on 31 January 2017. It is a four-day stage race on road over approximately 350km. Information can be found on www.panoramatour.co.za.

PPS SPONSORS UNIQUE PANORAMA CYCLE TOUR
30 January 2017: The Panorama Tour, a 12 year old cycle race which is the only road stage race for teams of two in South Africa, is proud to announce PPS as its headline sponsor for its 2017 event.
“Helping clients be and stay healthy has always been part of the PPS philosophy,” says Gerhard Joubert, Executive: PPS Group Marketing. “As a result, we felt that sponsoring this unique cycling event further cements our commitment to ensuring and protecting the health and wellness of our members, both physically and financially.”
This event is for a rare breed that strives to be the best they can be and is prepared to put the hard work in to be successful, he says. “This mirrors our members, who are a rare breed themselves being graduate professional members who provide vital skills in the country. The sense of achievement as the riders cross the finish line demonstrates that hard work pays off.”
Furthermore, PPS operates under the ethos of mutuality, which means that the company exists solely for the benefit of its members, and allocates all its profits to its members with qualifying products on an annual basis by way of allocations to their PPS Profit-Share Accounts.
The concept of mutuality filters through to the race participants who ride in teams of two, he adds. “As this is the only cycling road race in South Africa that requires a team mate to race, the sponsorship is in line with the company’s ethos of existing for our members and being our member’s perfect team mate when it comes to their financial solutions.”
Race Director, Fiona Coward adds, “Partnering with PPS is the best thing to happen to the race. The ethos of the company parallels the heart and soul of the Tour. It's tough, it's brutal, just like life can be, but the reward of finishing is beyond measure. One can't finish alone, every rider needs a partner. The race needed a partner and with PPS, we have one.”
